Do you sometimes feel like you are not living the life you were (somehow) meant to live?

Do you sometimes experience a sense of disbelief that tells you there is more to your life than what you are currently experiencing?

Do you have a yearning for a more meaningful experience of life?

We are so engrossed in our busy daily routines trying to survive in an uncertain, challenging world that we forget our dreams, aspirations, inspirations, and goals.

Sometimes it feels like it is all too much.

Sometimes it feels like something is "off" and with that feeling comes a deep sadness, a sense of loss, hopelessness about the future.

Feeling like this is profoundly discomforting, so you may try to switch off from your emotions. If you manage to do this, you risk disconnecting from your body, where emotions are held. This creates a very grey experience of life.

Sometimes, it is easier to think that there is something wrong with us for wanting more. We comfort ourselves with thinking that "other people have it worse". The fact is, however,  that we cannot shake off that feeling of discomfort, that pain of deep dissatisfaction.

Underneath it all lies a huge opportunity for growth and self-fulfilment.

What is life coaching?

Life coaching is a form of psychological intervention that takes the form of a goal-oriented, purpose-driven conversation between the coach and the coachee.

Some people may need just one coaching session, others may need more. One key characteristic of coaching is that sessions are short-term, and the may also be spaced out.

What makes the Life Coaching conversation very special is that it has a specific goal or purpose. The coachee brings a specific problem they are dealing with. The problem is one that they have not been able to solve.

The coach can then facilitate the discovery of a solution, a change of perspective, a shift in awareness or the realisation of a number of options and opportunities that were not easily available to the coachee before the coaching conversation took place. The coachee may also end up realising that the problem is not a problem at all.

The experience of being coached by a Life Coach is sometimes a bit hard to define: we start a conversation, set some goals, explore your thoughts and emotions around the problem you bring.

During a session, I ask you different types of questions to understand your experience.

Some of the questions may be difficult to answer, simply because no one has ever asked you those type of questions before, maybe because you have never even asked yourself those type of questions!

We explore your behaviour and analyse whether what you do gets you the results you want.

If you are coming to Life Coaching, it is likely that what you are doing right now is not getting you what you want, so we explore what you can do differently. It may be we may have to look at why you want what you want.

Life Coaching offers you a space to explore options, opportunities, and possibilities.

While you are being coached, you can carry out experiments to test doing things differently and then come and talk to the coach about what happened, what you were thinking, feeling and how others responded to your actions.

All this is discussed in the Life Coaching space, where there is no right or wrong, no judgements, no advice about what you should or should not do.

Time and time again, I have been marvelled at the possibilities that open up for my clients when they are allowed to express themselves in this way, in such a safe space of exploration!
